Customer Settlement Documents

Definition

Agency Business document used to settle receivables or payable created in a settlement request list with a customer.

The customer settlement document is defined in the Business Object Repository (BOR) as an SAP Business Object (type: BUS2144001). For more information, see Business Objects, BAPIs, ALE Interfaces in Agency Business.

Use

You can use customer settlement documents instead of posting lists. While the posting list represents a group of single settlement requests that are to be settled by a customer, the customer settlement document is an individual document for the customer.

You generate one or more customer settlement documents based on single settlement documents that have been created in settlement request lists. The system groups all single settlement requests that contain the same header data (customer or posting data) on the customer side in a single settlement document. In doing so, the system accepts the items in the single settlement requests.

The system runs price determination for each header in the customer settlement document. When this is done, the system also include purchasing condition records from the single settlement request when running price determination in the customer settlement document. Single settlement requests may contain a different currency than the customer settlement document.

Note

You can also use the customer settlement document to update bonus-relevant sales data for Structure linkSubsequent Settlement in Purchasing. If you generate customer settlement documents from single settlement requests, the system updates the sales data required for subsequent settlement and posts the provisions for accrued income using the conditions for the customer settlement document. When this is done, the system redefines the condition records for subsequent settlement, regardless of the settings in the copy control (from the single settlement request to the customer settlement document).

Integration

A customer settlement document is created using one or more settlement request lists.

You can create the following follow-on documents from the customer settlement document:

  • Remuneration lists
  • Accounting documents
  • Profitability analysis documents
  • Documents for Cash Management

Note

On the Accounting detail screen, you can display a list of the accounting documents and profitability analysis documents.

On the Document flow detail screen, you can display the follow-on documents that have been created (see Displaying Document Flow).
