Functional Prerequisites for Agency Business

Customizing settings or other sets of data have to be maintained in the following areas for agency business to be correctly mapped to the component for this in SAP Retail.

Customer and Vendor Master

The required settings for handling payment transactions with business partners (vendors and customers) have to be made in the vendor and customer master. These include payment terms, payment methods and bank details. This information is automatically read by the system when you enter payment documents.

The tabpage Purchasing Data or Sales Area contains the agency business indicator. This specifies whether a business partner is permitted for agency business. If you do not set this indicator, you cannot create any agency document for the business partner.

Note

In the Payment Transactions tabpage, you can maintain a different payer or payee for the business partner concerned.

Article master

The relevant article master records must exist in the article master if you want to do the following:

  • Use the documents Vendor Billing Document or Expense Settlement Documents.
  • Define article-specific data in a single settlement request or settlement request list.

You can also enter an article number in these documents for use in statistics or in the calculation of commission.

Site master

The relevant plants have to be maintained in the site master if you want to enter any site-specific data in a single settlement request, a settlement request list or a vendor billing document.

Customizing Settings for Agency Business

Settings including billing document types, settlement types, calculation schema determination must be defined in Customizing for Agency Business.

For further information, see the Agency Business section of the implementation guide (IMG).

Price Determination Using the Condition Technique

The condition technique of Purchasing is used in determining prices in Agency Business for calculating del credere commissions, discounts, conditions in Subsequent Settlement and other transactions involving prices. An exception to this is the Expense Settlement Document that uses the condition technique for Sales and Distribution.

Schema determination is run separately for vendors and/or customers. The calculation schemas required for this are defined in Customizing for Purchasing. An exception to this is the Expense Settlement Document for which the calculation schema is defined in Customizing for Sales and Distribution.

The system finds calculation schemas for vendor billing documents and for single settlement requests/settlement request lists and customer settlement documents for vendors and customers on the basis of the following data:

    • the schema group defined for the purchasing organization
    • the schema group defined for the vendor
    • the document schema

These assignments must be maintained in the Calculation Schema Determination steps in Customizing for Agency Business.

Note

The schema group for the vendor is defined on the Purchasing Data tabpage in the vendor master.

The document schema is defined in the billing document type.

For further information, see the Purchasing section of the implementation guide (IMG).

Financial Accounting

The relevant functions are required in Financial Accounting for the accounting documents generated from all the various agency business documents to be able to be processed further.

MM/SD Organizational Structures

In the Payment Type activity in Customizing for Agency Business, you define whether the organizational structures of Purchasing and Sales and Distribution are to be used for settlement or whether company code level is to be used instead.
